Standard Lineup Performance Vehicles

There are two 2 Series BMW models, the BMW 2 Series Coupe and the BMW 2 Series Grand Coupe. The Coupe is a two-door vehicle that has been entirely redesigned for the 2022 model year, while the Grand Coupe is a four-door model. Both of these vehicles are available with a few different trim options, which can include two different engine options. The standard is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine, with the upgrade being a 3.0L version.

All of these options are performance vehicles. The 2 Series Coupe, for example, can rocket from 0 to 60 in just 4.1 seconds. It also features the option of the all-new Sprint function, which comes as part of the Shadowline package. This allows drivers to immediately shift to the lowest available gear by simply pulling the left-hand shift paddle for one second. BMW's history in the racing business is evident in the design of both the 2 Series Coupe and the 2 Series Grand Coupe.

Even BMW's new all-electric offerings are impressive performance cars. The BMW i4 is an all-electric four-door sedan that is available in a variety of configurations. The base model, which is the BMW i4 eDrive40, can zoom from 0-60 in only five and a half seconds. Like many BMW vehicles, there is an M version that is even more impressive.

BMW's M Performance Vehicles

BMW has deep roots in racing. This is part of the company's corporate DNA, and it comes through the most clearly in the specialized M Performance Division. This part of the company creates versions of the standard BMW lineup that are even more performance-oriented. The 2022 BMW i4 M50, for example, has a 4.0 second 0 to 60 acceleration time!

Even SUVs can get the M treatment. The X5 M is what BMW calls a "sports activity vehicle". Unlike many other vehicles in the mid-size SUV class, however, the X5 M is designed for truly breathtaking performance. It features a 4.4L Twinturbo V8 engine that outputs up to 600 horsepower. This can send the X5 M from 0 to 60 in just 3.8 seconds - something that is beyond exceptional for its size.

The M class of BMW vehicles is impressive, to say the least. The BMW M5, for example, is a four-door sedan that also features a V8 engine; it can race from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds flat!
